Little Sailors is Lion City Sailors (LCS) Football School’s introductory football programme for young children aged 2 to 5 years old. Designed as a fun and engaging entry point into football, the programme focuses on building confidence, movement, and early football skills through play-based learning.

Little Sailors provides a strong foundation for children who are not yet ready for independent Football School training, while gently preparing them for progression into our weekly programmes as they grow. Fee structure can be found here.

Through age-appropriate games and activities, children will:

  • Develop fundamental movement skills (balance, coordination, running, jumping)
  • Be introduced to football-specific skills (ball mastery, dribbling, passing, shooting)
  • Build focus, confidence, and social interaction
  • Learn to listen, follow instructions, and work with others
  • Experience football in a positive, playful, and structured environment
  • Parent involvement is reduced progressively as children gain confidence and independence.

Curriculum

The Little Sailors programme is structured into two progressive stages, designed to support children at different developmental levels while gently guiding them towards independent football play.

Little Sailors Curriculum
Stage 1 - Sunday 10am
(Ages 2 – 3.5) 		Stage 2 - Sunday 11am
(Ages 3.5 – 5)
  • Play-based introduction to football and movement
  • Development of fundamental movement skills (balance, coordination, running, jumping)
  • Basic ball interaction (rolling, dribbling, kicking)
  • Parent-assisted participation
  • Focus on confidence, enjoyment, and engagement
  • Further development of football-specific skills (ball control, dribbling, passing, shooting)
  • Introduction to simple football concepts and game awareness
  • Reduced parent involvement, progressing towards independent play
  • Small-sided games and basic rules
  • Development of teamwork, communication, and social skills

Pathway into LCS Football School

Little Sailors is designed as a natural stepping stone into the Lion City Sailors Football School. Children who show readiness and interest will be guided towards our weekly recreational training programmes as they progress.
